Solar Observer· Terms of use

Last updated 22 October 2026

Solar Observer is a free research and education service. By creating an account you agree to use it fairly:

  • One account per person. Keep your password to yourself.
  • Don’t try to overload the service, get around its usage limits, or reach other people’s data.
  • Saved projects are kept for 7 days from the first save and then deleted, and each account has a storage limit. Download anything you want to keep.
  • The data comes from public archives (e-CALLISTO, NOAA SWPC, NASA SDO and others) and keeps their terms and credits; cite the original sources in your work.
  • The service is provided as it is, without guarantees of availability or accuracy. It is not an operational space-weather warning service.
  • Accounts that break these terms can be disabled or removed.
